Partners Graduate Webinar - Building Circles of Support

Date: September 20, 2010
Time: 2:30am - 4:00pm EDT
Registration Form: Partners Graduate Webinar - Building Circles of Support
Presenters: Nancy Hinkley and Jackie Yingling

Imagine a group of hand-picked individuals gathered to help an individual with disabilities accomplish his or her personal vision. Sounds great, but how do we make that a reality? Join us to discuss how to form a circle of support, the selection of members, and strategies for maintaining the effectiveness of the circle. Working together, an individual with a disability, committed professionals, concerned friends and family members can pool their resources to make a powerful difference in a person's life.

Participants will:

  • Be able to define what makes a Circle of Support
  • Learn why everyone needs a Circle of Support
  • Learn why individuals with disabilities sometimes need a more formal Circle of Support
  • Gain strategies for starting a Circle of Support
  • Participate in building a Circle for "Bobby"
